Prof. Dr. Thorsten Kosler studied Physics and Philosophy at University of Hamburg, Germany. He received his PhD (Dr. rer. soc.) in 2016 at Leuphana University Lüneburg (Germany) for his work about Science Education in Kindergarten and Primary School. From 2009 to 2014 he was Assistant Researcher (Wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter) for Science and Social Science Education in Primary School at Leuphana University Lüneburg (Germany). From 2014 to 2016 he was Assistant Researcher (Assistent) for Science and Sustainablity Education at the Institute of Education, University of Zurich, Switzerland. From 2016 to 2017 he was Senior Researcher (Oberassistent) at the same institute and Post-Doc at the Science Lab at the Faculty of Science, University of Zurich. Since 2017 he is Professor for Science Education at the Department of Research and Development in Teacher Education at the University College of Teacher Education Tyrol, Austria. His main areas of research are Scientific Thinking in Primary School and Education for Sustainable Development.
